The One Drop Zendo Munich is led by Sozui Zenni, a long-term senior student ofShodo Harada Roshi

Born in 1965 in Hildesheim, Germany, while studying architecture at the Technical University Munich, she began practising Zazen and first travelled to Japan. Having finished her studies in 1989, she began training under Shodo Harada Roshi at Sogen-ji Monastery in Okayama, Japan in 1990. In 1995 she was formally ordained as a Rinzai-Zen nun by Shodo Harada Roshi and continued her formal training under him.

Sogen-ji belongs to the Myoshin-ji Line of Rinzai Zen, with Myoshin-ji being one of the major Rinzai Zen training monasteries in Kyoto. Shodo Harada Roshi is a Dharma-Successor of Yamada Mumon Roshi.

In 2002 Sozui Zenni was asked to lead the One Drop Zendo Hungary, which she did on request of Shodo Harada Roshi and Taikyo Koji till fall 2006, while continuing her training at Sogen-ji, Japan. While in Budapest, she also taught at the Buddhist Collage Budapest, the only Buddhist University in Europe and established connections to Rinzai Zen-affiliated Hanazono University in Kyoto, Japan.

Having returned to her home town Munich on request of her teacher, in fall 2006 the One Drop Zendo Munich was founded. Shodo Harada Roshi is hoping to be able to help establish a place for intensive practise in the south of Europe.
